Cairnova Technologies: a software company in Falkirk.
Cairnova Technologies builds software for organisations that answer to a regulator — where a missing record is not an inconvenience but a finding. We run four products of our own and take on custom development across sectors.
Why we build this way
Most software sold into regulated sectors was built for somewhere else and fitted to Scotland afterwards. Terminology gets relabelled, a report gets added, and the underlying model still belongs to another jurisdiction. The gap shows up at inspection, and the provider is the one who has to explain it.
We start from the regulation. Rules are traced to their source, encoded as tests that fail when they are broken, and kept in a register that an inspector or a governance lead can read. That is slower to build and considerably easier to defend.
We also run our own platforms on our own identity layer. We are the first organisation exposed to a mistake in it.
We are a new company
You will work that out in thirty seconds at Companies House, so here it is first.
Cairnova Technologies was incorporated on 29 June 2026. Our first accounts are not due until March 2028, so there is no filed financial history to assess yet.
What does exist: our identity platform runs in production today, serving live users daily through our school management system. Our educational visits platform and our case management platform for regulators are built and staged, and we can demonstrate both. Our social care platform is in development. None of the four is yet under contract with a customer in the United Kingdom, and we are working towards Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 rather than holding them.
If your standard financial standing test needs filed accounts or a turnover threshold we cannot meet, tell us early and we will work with your procurement team on the alternative evidence your rules allow — management accounts, bank references, or a scope small enough that the test does not bite.
What that means in practice: we are not the safe procurement choice for a critical system with no fallback, and we will say so if that is what you are describing. We are a good choice for a scoped pilot, a subcontracted component, or a problem the incumbents have priced out of reach — where being small, direct and genuinely accountable is worth more than a long reference list.

Buying from us
- Public Contracts Scotland
-
We are registered on Public Contracts Scotland and PCS-Tender, and monitor notices in health and social care, digital and identity categories. We are a member of the Supplier Development Programme.
- Routes to contract
-
Direct award within your delegated threshold, quick quotation, framework or dynamic purchasing system where we are eligible, or subcontracting through a main contractor already on your framework. Tell us which route your organisation uses and we will work within it.
- Demonstrations
-
We will demonstrate any product live, on a screen share or in person, with the engineer who built it rather than a salesperson. For Cairnova Casework that is the staged prototype end to end; for the others it is the built modules and an honest account of what is not built yet. Bring your procurement and information governance leads; their questions are the useful ones.
- Pilots
-
We are open to proportionate, time-boxed pilots with a clear evaluation and an exit that costs you nothing but time. We would rather prove the product than describe it.
- Community wealth building
-
We are a Scottish company employing and spending in Scotland, and our software is built here rather than licensed from overseas. Ask us for the specifics you need for your own community benefit reporting.
Contact
You will be speaking to the person who builds the software. Email is the fastest route; the address below is plain text so you can copy it into whichever mail client you use.
Useful things to ask for: a capability statement, a completed security questionnaire, our DPIA register and data processing agreement, a demonstration, or a scoped pilot discussion. Our privacy notice explains what we do with the details you send us.
